Cisterns in this section comprise units which include all the essential items identified in Schedule 2. Section 7, Paragraph 4. of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.

`Balmoral M100-B30` range of hot press moulded GRP sectional, pre-insulated panels, for the construction of cold-water storage cisterns. Assembled panels are sealed with extruded butyl rubber. The cisterns are fitted with uPVC roof struts to support the roof panels. Galvanised steel struts internally brace them with stainless steel ties externally. The cisterns are provided with wholesome water storage kit consisting of a screened air inlet screened warning pipe and a screened overflow (where applicable). The roof structure is fitted with one or more sealed manhole access points, mounted either directly on the roof structure or fitted into a float operated valve housing. Nuts and bolts in contact with water are stainless steel.

`Liquistore` range of cylindrical sectional cisterns for the storage of potable water comprising a tank shell of aluminium or galvanised steel sheets braided with rolled angle and wind girders of aluminium or galvanised mild steel and with aluminium tank roof. The tank shell is lined with a butyl rubber liner where in contact with potable water. Nuts and bolts in contact with potable water are stainless steel. Structures in contact with potable water are painted with Intex P1106 or B1106/SL. The cistern is fitted with screened overflow and warning pipes where appropriate and screened air vents (McAlpine ZWC FBR).

Range of underground cisterns and pump systems. The system incorporates a cold-water storage cistern with pump supply to the receiving building, which is encased within a GRP pod. The pod is designed with overflow and leakage sump (which discharges at high level), frost protection heater, automatic pump control panel, watertight cover with access hatching and vent pipe to atmosphere. The overflow and leakage sump is designed to receive water from both the overflow and any leakage of water from outside of the pod. Once the sump pump has been activated the indication on the control panel operates the electrically controlled valve on the mains supply to the storage cistern, a maintenance engineer must then be called to re- set the system. The indicating control panel is situated both within the pod and within the supply building and can also be connected to remote alarms. The inlet supply to the storage cistern incorporates a non-verifiable double check assembly.
